What Denomination is this Church?

Forge Road Bible Chapel follows the directions and pattern given the New Testament for the meeting and work of the Church. As the Bible does not provide for “denominations” within the Church, we are Christians gathered only to the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are independent of any secular or religious order, but fellowship with all those who love the Lord Jesus. (I Corinthians 1; Acts 11)

Who is the Pastor of the Church?

The Head of the Church is Jesus Christ. By the Holy Spirit, the shepherding of the Church is entrusted to godly men, who the Bible calls “elders.” Elders serve as a group, without any one person having prominence. The practical necessities of the ministry are handled by those recognized by the Church as “deacons.” However, every Christian has spiritual gift for work in the ministry of the Church. Therefore, no ministry is committed unto just one person; but depends upon the combined service of all. (Acts 6 and 20; I Timothy3; Titus 1; Ephesians 4)

What is the Lord’s Supper?

On the night before He died, Jesus asked His disciples to remember Him in the breaking of bread and the drinking of the cup. This instruction is repeated to the early Church, and was practiced by it on the first day of the week. This meeting focuses on the Lord’s death, which is His great sacrifice for us. In it, we worship the Lord Jesus, declare His worthiness, and express our thanksgiving for what He has done. (Matthew 26; I Corinthians 11)

What does it mean to be an active participant in the fellowship of believers at Forge Road Bible Chapel?

• Strives to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord, obedient to the standards of His Word.
• Appreciates the significance of and participates in the fellowship of the Lord's Supper at FRBC.

• Participates in the use of his/her spiritual gift in the ministries of FRBC.
• Encourages and supports the ministries of other believers at FRBC.
• Supports the leadership of the Deacons and Elders at FRBC.

How do I Become a Member of the Church?

The Church consists of all persons who are born again through faith in Jesus Christ. The Church is not “joined” by a ceremony or process; but the Lord adds to His Church those who are saved. Therefore, rather than keep a membership list, we emphasize that a person is in fellowship at a local church. To be in fellowship means to be committed to that body of believers, in agreement with its doctrine, in support of its goals, and committed to one another in love. Christians in a local church should continue together in doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. We welcome all those who are saved by faith in Jesus Christ to join with us in this fellowship. (Matthew 16; Luke 10; Acts 2)
